Hammerson owns and operates some of the best-known retail destinations in the UK and Ireland, including Bullring, Brent Cross, Cabot Circus, West Quay, and Dundrum. Leasing those spaces means showing them, often to brands based hundreds of miles away. Explore Hammerson is the live platform we built to do that: a continuously refreshed Matterport capture of the vacant units across the estate, wrapped in the tools the leasing teams need to run viewings remotely.
Leasing retail space has always depended on in-person viewings. Getting a prospective tenant to a unit takes diaries, travel, and time, and photography ages quickly as units are stripped, refitted, and re-let. The industry default is to accept the friction.
Hammerson chose not to. They wanted their leasing managers and agents to be able to walk any prospect through any available space at any time, with confidence that what they were showing was current, and they came to us to build the platform.
The platform holds Matterport capture of around 66 vacant retail units across the five centres. A leasing manager or agent opens a unit and walks a prospective tenant through it remotely: dollhouse view for the shape of the space, walkthrough for the feel of it, all from a browser.
Behind that sits the operational layer. Leasing teams have admin access, analytics show how spaces are being viewed, and an automated scan-request workflow lets the team commission a re-scan the moment a unit changes. Quarterly staggered re-scans keep the whole estate current rather than letting the capture decay.
Where an empty unit needs reimagining rather than showing as-is, we produce CGI unit tours, so the platform can present the space a tenant could create, not just the shell that exists today.
The platform is live and in daily use by Hammerson's leasing teams and agents, with quarterly re-scans keeping it current. Interest from Hammerson's European business in extending the platform is a good signal of where it goes next.
